Why is the job market for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology so dismal and financially unrewarding?

After graduation in 1999, I have found that this particular degree has been virtually worthless in todays Job Market. Unless one is willing to plunge deeper into the financial abyss for a PHD, job opportunities are almost non-existant.

because the market is saturated with psychologists, why don’t you consider teaching or using your degree in another area you are an educated person with vast knowlegde and not limited to one job market
